Opera for children
"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs"

The first opera for children “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” by composer Petar J. Krstić, directed by professors Olivera Perunović and Zorana Latković, who is also the creator of the project, had premiere at the Cultural Center “Budo Tomović” in Podgorica at March 22nd.

The opera was performed by excellent students of the Art School for Music and Ballet “Vasa Pavić“, and what makes this opera special is the fact that as many as six secondary VET schools participated in its preparation, whose students, under the supervision of their mentors, were in charge of designing and making costumes, hairstyles, stage make-up, design and production of scenography and decor, design and production of posters and propaganda material, cocktail and service, as well as production of photo and video material, i.e. trailers.

This project is a special kind of promotion of ART and VET education. More than 80 students participated in this project and promoted their future professions in a wonderful way.

Among them are a large number of girls, students belonging to vulnerable groups as well as students with special educational needs, which shows that students know no borders.

We recognized the importance of supporting such a project and supported it through our campaign.

Beside Art School for Music and Ballet “Vasa Paviċ” five more school participated:
Secondary Vocational School “Spasoje Raspopović” from Podgorica, Secondary Art School “Petar Lubarda” from Cetinje, Vocational Medical School from Podgorica, School for Secondary and Higher Vocational Education “Sergej Stanić” from Podgorica and Secondary School for Electrical Engineering and IT “Vaso Aligrudić” from Podgorica.

What is important to point out is that the opera will be performed in several other cities in Montenegro, so students and audiences from all regions of Montenegro will enjoy it.

After Podgorica, on April 29, it will be performed in the northern municipality of Mojkovac, then in the central region in the capital Cetinje on May 31, and in the southern region on June 18 in town Tivat.
We have already started the story of cooperation with schools and students from abroad and we hope that the opera will be performed in the fortress of the old coastal town of Bar in the spring.

The opera is performed with the financial support of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation as well as the support of the Bureau for Education Services, the Center for Vocational Education, with the media sponsor Radio Television of Montenegro and of course support of our VET4WB project.

We hope that this type of cooperation will be extended to cooperation between partner schools from Western Balkans and that the opera will perhaps be performed in all partner schools as well.
